CIRKEL
A minimalistic metal door handle.
‘Cirkel’ is a minimalistic metal door handle. The lines and shapes are based off of the geometry seen in the minimalistic style. The design is inspired by very basic curves and forms seen in other aspects of life, whether it be natural or man made. This is what transformed the original ideation into something more tangible. The simple design is brought to life with soft Scandinavian colours and a bold form.
The inspiration for this project comes from many different elements. It is important to have a visual impact, which I think all of these examples have. It is in simplicity, as well as breaking the idea into basic geometrical shapes, that I am interested in. The idea of creating a textured surface, such as in the copper tubes, could create a pleasing visual effect. I also think it is important to remember the ergonomics of a door handle while taking inspiration from geometry.
